Project Zero, also referred to as the Sustainability Club, aims to create a communal awareness throughout CUCA about sustainability. What is sustainability....? Well, it's meeting the needs of today without compromising the needs of future generations. The way we can do that is by first of all getting educated, then getting involved, and finally putting ideas into action. Out of several ideas, our main one is to put a self sustaining greenhouse on the roof of one of our buildings, which would provide the cafeteria with organic produce, as well as give science students a hands on place to learn. Did I mention it would create it's own energy, thus eliminating a carbon footprint...? Yeah, read it again.
Since there is no environmental initiative in place at Concordia, this gives Project Zero a unique opportunity to make huge changes, and go down as something that left a very positive impact not only on CUCA as an institution, but the faculty members and students as well. If you're interested in building your resume, learning important life skills, and learning a sense of leadership, join the club!
We meet mondays in HA207 from 12:15 - 12:55.
If you're too busy to join the club or just aren't interested, just take 2 minutes to help us out and do this survey please! :)
