Meet Ian Lee
My name is Ian and I am excited to serve as your CSA President this year. I am in my fourth year of a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy. I have been a part of the many clubs on campus for many years and I have benefited year after year from the rich community at CUE and within the CSA. Concordia is a place of incredible opportunity and it is my wish that all of the students here get the most of those opportunities. This is my third year running for the Concordia Thunder X-Country Running Team and Indoor Track Team and my second year as co-captain for the men’s team. In the past I have worked as a writer and an editor for the student newspaper on campus, The Bolt News. I have also served as the treasurer and president of the Concordia Model UN Club representing CUE at conferences around the world. I have experience working as a communications officer for a non-profit advocacy group called WeCanada, establishing connections with universities, government officials and communities across the country.
My job as CSA President is to represent student concerns to all levels of our university administration, to our greater community, and to the municipal and provincial governments. My goal is to inform and advocate to these groups to improve the lives of CUE students throughout their degree and into their futures. I currently serve as the elected Chair of the Alberta Students’ Executive Council (ASEC), a provincial lobby group for students consisting of 14 students associations from across Alberta.
If you want to know more about me (or simply feel compelled to finish reading this), my likes and interests include reading, writing, languages, snowboarding, longboarding, folk music, X-country running, basketball, hacky-sac, pizza appreciation, and putting on brand-new socks. My dislikes include alarm clocks, group projects, making lists, existential dread, burnt toast, and leaving phone messages when you are not prepared for it.
One of my all time favorite things is when I get a chance to talk to students, so please feel free to stop me in the hall or drop by the CSA offices in A207! I look forward to seeing you all this year!
