Abha Sharma
CSA President Hi Concordia, I am Abha Sharma from the Faculty of Arts. I’m in my second year of the university doing under graduation in Bachelors of Music and having Drama as my minor. Since my childhood I’ve dreamt of becoming a singer and still proceed with the same dream in my eyes for the future. Concordia has given me a vast ocean of opportunities to portray my talent and skills not only in music but also as a person I am becoming more and more confident. I have been in CSA from past 5 months and the amount of enthusiasm and confidence I’ve developed over time. I also look forward taking up the responsibilities of CSA’s President and stand in the election with complete authority to fulfil them for the next term and be helpful to everybody. VP Finance My name is Vansh. I am in my second year of Bachelor of Science in IT with math minor. I have been fond of computers and technology since my childhood. I am always curious about learning new things and keeping up with the world. One of my goal in life is learning everything I can. Apart from computers and technology I also like music and animals. I love working for nature and animals. Concordia has given a lot of opportunities to us for building a bright future and I am very thankful for that. I am willing to do my best for all the students as well as the university by joining CSA. VP Student Life Hi, my name Is Vyom Rawal, I am a second-year student doing Bachelor of Science majoring in Information Technology and completing my minor in Business. Apart from computers and technology I am also highly interested in business management. And here I look forward to gain more knowledge and experience from The Concordia University of Edmonton, for which the university is already providing me great opportunities and I am thankful for that. I am well-organized and dedicated to ensuring a safe, inclusive environment. I strive to be a leader both in and out of the classroom and provide inclusivity to my peers to meet their needs. Education Representative Hello Concordia! My name is Jessa Clarkson, and I am running for the Education Faculty Representative position. I am in my first year in the Education after-degree program at Concordia and will be the President of the Education Students Society for 2023-2024. I am qualified for this position because I work closely with the Education program and the university to provide support, information and a memorable experience to all Faculty of Education students. I am a strong leader and collaborator with the ESS team and everyone at Concordia. My goals for the upcoming year include creating a stronger connection between the undergraduate and after-education degree programs, increasing involvement for all students and continuing to be a strong advocate for the education of students and the university. During my very short time here at Concordia, I have had the amazing opportunity to represent our university at The Rocky Mountain Business Seminar last month. I was also involved in last semester’s production of Chrysothemis. Outside of school, I volunteer with numerous homeless shelters. Israa Hussein
Running for: Arts Representative Hey Concordia! My name is Israa Hussein. I am a third-year student in the faculty of arts. I am majoring in English with a minor in drama And I am running for the position of Arts Representative in this CSA election for the upcoming academic year. During my time at Concordia, I have had the honor of getting to know so many different people and experience different programs taking a variety of classes and being a part of clubs throughout. Namely, I am a contributor for The Bolt . And last semester I had the pleasure and opportunity to be a part of the school's production of Chrysothemis. Outside of school, I do a lot for the community as I volunteer at Homeless Shelters throughout the year as well as with 4B Harm Reduction Society supporting Edmonton's houseless and vulnerable population. Through these volunteering opportunities, I have undertaken many responsibilities such as organizing events and holding accountability. These experiences have in turn allowed me the ability to assess problems and fix the situation. I hope to put many of the skills I have learned both in the concordia community and my volunteering career into the CSA and my position as arts representative. For my entire academic career I have had the privilege of being part of so many events planned by CSA and I would love the chance to be a part of the planning and execution of many more amazing events to come. I would love to bring in even more events and build a better relationship between the students and the CSA. I hope to be the voice for my peers in the student council that bring forth your needs and concerns to the general council. I look forward to getting more involved with the CSA and the Concordia community as a whole and prove to be a voice for every Faculty of Arts Student.
